Volunteer

Want to be part of the biggest film festival in the North East? We’re looking for various volunteer roles to help bring this year’s event to the big screen.

We’re building a team to assist with the running of our upcoming 8th edition of the film festival, we welcome all filmmakers and film lovers to help us deliver the best short films, music videos and industry events for our audiences.

This is great industry experience for working in the festival circuit and the film industry and we look forward to hearing from you.

Volunteer Roles

Reviewers – We’re looking for volunteer reviewers to watch through this year’s submissions & help us pick the line-up for our 8th edition of the Festival this October. We don’t mind if you’re a film fanatic or a movie newbie, we want to hear from a wide variety of people on our content to make this our best selection of films yet! All reviewers will undertake a short online training process then carry out reviews online via Filmfreeway.

Availability: ASAP – August 2023

Tech Supervisor – You’ll be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of the festival, including the screenings running smoothly, liaising with the cinema staff and ensuring all our films, files and supporting materials are prepped and ready for action. As we work between venues, you’ll need to be adaptable to working in different spaces and have some knowledge of film screenings to support you in your role.

Front of House Assistant – Front of House is where everything happens, from welcoming guests, to providing lanyards and tickets, to answering any questions from festival goers. Ideal for those who have confident people skills, problem solvers and are highly organised.

Filmmaker Liaison Assistant – We welcome many films to the festival which means we welcome a lot of filmmakers! On this team you’ll be responsible for welcoming the filmmakers to the venues, co-ordinating them with the screening Q&As and ensuring that they know everything they need to know about the festival events happening. Ideal for those who have confident people skills, great communicators and are highly organised.
